I can't help but wonder if the rise in conspiracy movements like QAnon could have been fueled partly by mass unfamiliarity with navigating the high-pressure infohose that is the modern internet. Conspiracy is an attention monster. It's free in the way it needs to be to become a successful attention economy product. It strikes me as more of a misapplication of thought than an absence of thought, with all the effort that they must devote into researching chemtrails and shit like that.
