Upgrading the family NAS from an ancient Intel Atom to a modern N100 is in progress.
Past me already installed the system on the SSD, and I totally forgot about that. Saved me a bit of time. Good job past me!
My dad says he already notices the difference on the first tries when accessing his data via smb/samba. It is a huge leap forward.
This was the old mainboard/SoC. An Intel Atom D525 at 1.8 GHz. This was the first server I ever purchased for myself and we kept it as a family NAS for almost 15 years. It was slow, but it did the job.
