Absolutely ridiculous prices (though adjusted for inflation etc. maybe less so? )
Not that I was going to play these. Being 2 generations behind and on PC works out quite nicely...
@Cognessence those prices are absolutely insane. Both the games but also the console itself. Switch 1 was a huge success and now they are milking their fan-base.
They are even going back to the LCD screen with bezel instead of succeeding the Switch OLED model that had such a phantastic screen/body ratio. They know that people will still buy it at release since this console has other major selling points. This allows them to come up with a Switch2 OLED model at a later point in time, once sales are stagnating
I'm in a way disappointed but also not really surprised. Might either hold-off till they release the OLED model or just forget about this nonsense and do other things in my free-time that don't raid my wallet
@realestninja yes, not having it start with the OLED was another very disappointing move amongst a few (though not surprising, as you said.) It's so predictable now, how the Switch 2 OLED model will come at a later point.
Like you, I'm just going to do other things and save money. I haven't played a game in a long time anyway, and have got used to checking out titles two generations or so later. Probably will catch up on the Switch 2 in a good many years lol. Whilst getting in on the buzz in realtime was fun, mostly being a bit behind works.
Nintendo don't seem to do "good faith" moves these days, even if I'll admit their software is polished. Having said that, I'm tempted by Tears of the Kingdom being on here - mainly because the framerate on the old versions on the Switch gave me a headache! But I get others were fine with them, and I'm not spending that money again.
