DNS like a book that has the addresses to all the websites on the internet. Whenever your browser goes to a site, it checks this book to check the address of the website. Then it visits the website and brings back the content. But since this happens in computers, it happens really quickly.
@Stomata It is a list of servers on the internet, so that your computer can ask where to find <example website/app that they know of, like Youtube>. Then it connects there and asks for the content you've tapped on
If they ask how "connecting" works, say that it sends electricity down the right wire (or that it tells the router to do so, if they're aware of that device in the house)
