You think it's a _coincidence_ that the rope store is always right next to the rickety stool store?

Whichever lady wanted 13 inches last night needed to rephrase their wish.

Half the town was shut down today. The road crews did a phenomenal job, but the hard part is digging out the car and the driveway. Busses were even canceled. Luckily, my co-worker picked me up.

Why the hell do I want to make an LFS installation?

Okay there's something really cool I've just learned. If you are continuously recording air pressure e.g. as part of your home automation setup or a weather station then you should really check the data of the last 24h.
You should be able to spot the pressure wave from the volcanic explosion in Tonga earlier today.

It reached my setup in Kaiserslautern at about 20:30.

I wonder if you can get IOT false teeth yet. you know - Dentures.

You could have a dash board on your phone with lots of dials and warning lights. A chew counter. Temperature gauge so you can tell if what you are eating is burning your mouth etc. Send you adverts to your phone. Vibrating alarms. Geo location - Find my teeth. Alert the government if you hum copyrighted tunes or Kiss someone from a sanctioned country.

@sk313t0n You mean the problem is that Big Tech is providing too much incentive for people to stay with centralised services instead of having a server themselves?

That would be a fair point. I don't believe that everyone will self-host. But I think that there will be more awareness towards keeping control over one's data.

This. If you have knowledge you want to pass on, make a blog, a website on something.

Posting on things we have to get an app, sign in, find et and scroll for ages, is ensuring this knowledge will not spread.

Even Twitter is part of the problem
