If you hate Windows, simply switch to Linux so you can hate Linux instead

Objects are lost only because people look where they are not rather than
where they are.

It's so awesome to see this combination of hardware (and software) together! This is the HP Dev One laptop, powered by Pop OS.

Linux elitism makes me sick. I'm tired of people screaming at me what I should be doing on my computer. Shouldn't the linux desktop be about freedom, not about basement people with super inflated egos narrowing your choices?

Please don't be a linux elitist. It's not healthy for the community and your social life.

I’m just going to say this once.

Everyone I’ve ever met from social.linux.pizza I have been able to enjoy a conversation with.

Might be one of the best kept secrets on fedi imho.

But, regardless of where you hail I am sure you are all great people. :bunhdheart:

I really liked the phone @ the bunker in Berlin and the exhibition was breathtaking. Thanx 🇩🇪 for a great weekend

Something a bit different today...

There's a really nice Fediverse admin on here called @stux who provides lots of free decentralised public services (public instances of Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed, Matrix, Nitter, Invidious, Searx etc).

Stux is spending hundreds of euros a month so that these services remain free and operational.

Apparently Stux has had a tough time finding work recently, but has their own small business which provides web hosting.

If you're looking for a small indie hosting provider, this might be a really good choice as the money raised will help keep the Fedi going too:

(I'm sorry to embarass you Stux, but I think you deserve a shout-out for the good work you do!)

Clocked an application at one of the older computers at work today. 1 min and 13 sec sound ok but feels like forever + infinity. I’m spoiled with apps that start almost instantly

Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I work at a ccTLD (.IS), and lately we are seeing a *lot* of new accounts immediately registering multiple domains that all had been registered in the past. I suspect we're not the only ccTLD that sees this.

We know of at least two instances of this being used to take over social media accounts that had e-mails in expired domains set as backup e-mail addresses.

This seems to be organized and well-resourced.

Please double-check you don't use e-mails in any expired domains anywhere.

I’m watching a 1981 news video about the new computers trend and this IRS sticker is so good
