How long does it take for a mastodon instance to "forget" dead instances? Or does it even forget?

@Gargron
Would it be possible for Mastodon to implement DANE-verification against other instances?
It would a neat security feature

So has started to offer a free (50GGB maximum traffic).
What does think?

Personally, I have no idea how good namecheap is to protect users data

Has anyone tried using Mastodon OAuth2 to authenticate against a gitea server?

eeeh, is the gnu hashtag broken? Because I am getting timeout when I try to browse it.

Some people has today registered on this instance with hotmail/outlook/live addresses, and marked the verification email was marked as spam by the users.

Just a FYI

Notification to instances that uses relay.linux.pizza

I will close down the relay in a few weeks. Please unfollow :)

Pleased to announce, that we have changed our banner for social.linux.pizza instead of the old one. The new one is classified as "art".

This was crafted together by @ohyran , so if you are in any need of a illustrator/designer - you know who you should talk to :)

Reminder for instance admins

ICANN recently started to recommend all domains to deploy DNSSEC as a consequence after the first successful attack against a non-signed domain.

Please enable DNSSEC on your domain in order to protect your users.

Running elasticsearch on a remote location to enable "full-text-search" in Mastodon?

I was thinking about setting up elasticsearch on a server (about 45ms latency) not located nearby where the mastodon instance is located. Is that a good idea to do with 45ms latency?

I just wish that there was a possibility to tag instances with a certain tag, and if enough instances has tagged it as for example "NSFW", it would be added to a list that was other instances was able to subscribe to.
