Laptop was getting sluggish earlier and I discovered that plasma shell was at 65% of my available memory. What the hell? Back to Xfce again.
@groovestomp for years I ran just a window manager with a standalone system tray. It feels odd to even use a DE at times, but that's only when it breaks and I actually notice it. Xfce is really good at not being noticed.
My only worry is that they seem to be a couple decades away from moving to wayland at this point...
@jeang3nie Good 'ol XFCE. Often the least bad choice for a full desktop environment.
