a really cool writing device is the alphasmart neo. it was a word processor made for classrooms, but is a great minimalist writing device. i guess the aspiring novelist crowd really likes them.

it has a super small screen so isn't suitable for looking back through the text and editing - it's just for writing.

it has a stellar battery life, and autosaves as you write. to copy the text to a PC, you just need to connect the USB cable, open a text file and hit SEND. it will copy the entire file character by character into your text editor. really neat.

Yesterday, we announced #LibreOffice 7.4, our new major release. But most of the work was done by community members and certified developers – so we've forwarded your thanks to them: blog.documentfoundation.org/bl

Noticed that there is a #lemmy client for #android called #Jerboa there seems to be pretty decent. Maybe it will get me to start using Lemmy more often, since I don't really spend time just browsing on my desktop machine.

July - This Month in #Minetest

Last month, developers worked on releasing 5.6.0, and x2048 started work on post-processing and god rays for 5.7. MeseCraft has an important update, as well as a few interesting mods. Finally, Minetest was shown off at the exploreandlearn@LMZ edutech conference, with talks and workshops.

I like GitHub less and less. Why am I going to search for issues without filters, and it lists the Pull Requests if there is a section for Pull Requests which searching without filters shows ONLY the PRs?

My #OpenBSD has crashed 2 times in the last 3 days. I believe it is a kernel panic.

There was nothing like this on #Linux .

I am still keeping my #OpenBSD OS; for now.....
